The measurement given for zips (5mm-6mm-7.5mm-9mm-10mm) is the approximate width across the teeth when the zip is closed (See below). The following guide may be useful when selecting your zip. Caravan awnings, frame tents and big family dome tents 7.5mm to 10mm Medium dome tents and ridge tents 6mm to 8mm Small dome tents and all inner tents 5mm to 6mm On some less expensive tents you may like to consider fitting a heavier and stronger zip.
